A significant update for Delhi’s school students: Schools will close for three days in September. The break is set from September 8th to 10th, 2023. A total of three days off have been officially declared due to the upcoming G20 Summit in Delhi. This special event led to the decision to temporarily close schools and colleges. While schools will be completely shut, colleges can opt for online classes if desired. Additionally, offices will also be closed, allowing remote work.

Announcement of Public Holiday

With representatives from many countries arriving for the G20 summit in Delhi, the city is preparing to enhance security and implement traffic diversions at various locations. To ensure a smooth environment and prevent issues, a three-day public holiday has been declared.

Closure of Markets and Banks

As per the Delhi government’s order, all banks and markets will remain closed during these three days. This announcement was made by Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, following the recommendation of the Delhi Police Special Commissioner. Some schools and colleges have been advised to conduct online classes, and offices are encouraged to permit work from home.

Event Venue

The prestigious Bharat Mandapam Convention Center will host world leaders for the G20 Summit. The event will take place at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. Considering this, the Delhi Police have arranged traffic diversions, which will be active for the three-day duration.
