In a recent update, technology giant Google has introduced an exciting new feature for iOS users of Google Meet. The update enables users to include audio while sharing their screen during video calls. This development was reported by IANS and shared in the Workspace Updates blogpost on Friday.
According to Google, iOS users can now share videos with sound or even incorporate music into their presentations while using Google Meet on their mobile devices. The company further revealed that this feature will become available to Android users by mid-August, expanding its reach to a wider audience.
Additionally, Google announced that more than 30,000 shared drives can now have a Google group added to them. This marks a significant enhancement as previously only a single Google Group could be a member of an unlimited number of shared drives.
Earlier in the month, Google had announced another innovative feature in Meet – the ability to create background images using artificial intelligence. This feature was part of the Workspace Labs program, which allows users to test new AI features through invitation. Users were urged to avoid sharing any personal, private, or sensitive information while using this feature.
In a bid to enrich the video communication service further, Google is also introducing a new partner mode check-in feature. Moreover, a new viewer mode will be available on Google Meet, allowing users to decide whether everyone is treated as an audience when creating their calendar invites.
With these updates, Google continues to enhance the user experience and offer exciting new ways to collaborate and communicate effectively through Google Meet. iOS users can already take advantage of the audio screen sharing feature, and Android users can look forward to enjoying it soon as well.
