What’s a hero without a strong opponent? And who’s Pushpa (Allu Arjun) without Banwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil)? The first part concluded with a hint of a bigger clash between these two characters, and even though we got a sneak peek of Pushpa in the second part, there was no word on Fahadh Faasil’s Banwar Singh—until now. On the occasion of the Malayalam star’s 41st birthday today, Mythri Movie Makers, who are behind Pushpa 2, have revealed a new poster of Fahadh from the movie.
The caption on the poster reads, “Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat Sir will be back on the big screens with a vengeance.”
Fahadh Faasil looks quite cool in the poster. He isn’t wearing his police uniform like he did at the end of the first film when Pushpa mocked him. Instead, he’s got on a long dark coat.
The first part, Pushpa: The Rise, ended with a major showdown between the hero and the proud police officer Banwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh). The showdown concluded with Banwar facing an embarrassing defeat. Pushpa (Allu Arjun) hints that the story has only started and it’s easy to assume that the sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, will focus on the rivalry between Pushpa and Banwar.
Fahadh is a big reason for the growing excitement for the movie. His impressive performance has gained him fans not just in Telugu states but also in Tamil Nadu, where he played a biased antagonist in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan.
Meanwhile, Pushpa: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and starring Rashmika Mandanna as well, is set to hit theaters on December 22, 2023.
