Gadar 2 Box Office Preview: Sunny Deol film run time, screen count, advance booking and opening day prediction

Amidst the realm of cinema, a grand spectacle awaits as Sunny Deol, after a hiatus of 22 years since Gadar, prepares to grace the silver screen once again as Tara Singh in the much-anticipated Gadar 2, skillfully directed by Anil Sharma. The revelation of this news has ignited a palpable fervor among avid cinephiles. Ever since the official announcement, the film has resonated significantly, and now, the long-awaited moment is fast approaching. Recently, Gadar 2 successfully secured a U/A certification from the esteemed Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with an agreed-upon runtime of 2 hours and 50 minutes. The conscientious board also provided some suggestions, all of which the creators have dutifully taken into account. As the release date draws near, Gadar 2 is poised to debut on an impressive count of over 3500 screens across the nation.

This cinematic marvel is set to be distributed nationwide by none other than Zee Studios, ensuring a grand and extensive release. Indeed, the Gadar sequel shall claim the distinction of being Sunny Deol’s most widespread release to date, conquering nearly 3500 screens. However, the battle to secure even more screens rages on, with potential minor alterations looming until Thursday night. An ideal scenario for a film like Gadar 2, boasting immense buzz, would have entailed 4500 screens. Alas, the impending clash with OMG 2 impedes its journey towards reaching its full potential.

In the realm of advance bookings, the multiplexes and single screens opened their counters for ticket sales the previous week, and the response has been nothing short of extraordinary, resonating throughout the cinematic landscape. By Wednesday morning, a staggering 61,000 tickets for Gadar 2 have already been sold across three prominent national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. Such remarkable figures bode well for the film, positioning it to claim the distinction of securing the second-largest advance booking for a Hindi film. The projected total of ticket sales for Gadar 2 at these national chains is expected to range between 2.5 lakh and 3.5 lakh, thus solidifying its status as the second or third most significant advance booking in the post-pandemic era, trailing only behind Pathaan and Brahmastra.

The advance bookings for Gadar 2 have even surpassed the bookings of films such as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Vikram Vedha, and Laal Singh Chaddha, and are well on their way to outperforming Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It is projected that by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, it shall also outshine RRR, 83, Drishyam 2, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in terms of advance bookings. While the film’s performance mirrors that of Brahmastra in the national chains, the non-national chains and single screens have responded exceptionally well, marking an unprecedented reception for a feature film in recent history. At certain locations, Gadar 2 is on par with Pathaan, while at others, it has even surpassed the resounding response garnered by the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer.
