Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is gearing up for the imminent launch of its newest foldable device, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3. While the initial release will be confined to the domestic market, anticipation is building for its debut on August 14th. This innovative smartphone is set to succeed the Mix Fold 2 and Mi Mix Fold, introduced by the company in 2021 and 2020 respectively. Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, took to the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo to break the news of the upcoming phone launch.
Lei Jun also shared a captivating marketing poster that bears the tagline, “Defining a new standard for the second half of the folding screen.” The unveiling event is scheduled for 7:00 PM local time (4:30 PM Indian time) and will feature Lei Jun’s annual address.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is set to flaunt a sizable square-shaped camera module accompanied by an LED flashlight. Leaked information suggests that the phone will boast an expansive 8.02-inch full-HD Plus inner display complemented by a 6.5-inch cover panel. Both screens are poised to support a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to house an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with potential configurations reaching up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The smartphone might also pack a robust 4,800mAh battery, supported by either 50W or 67W wired fast charging capabilities.
Rising Competition:
Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 3 is positioned to contend with recently launched counterparts such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. While the specifics remain undisclosed, the question of whether the Mix Fold 3 will extend its launch to India remains unanswered.
